WHAT: 5K Haunted Hayrun and Haunted 1 Mile Run... IF YOU DARE!!!
Don’t miss this ghoulishly good challenge including a 3.1 mile haunted adventure run and Haunted Mile. Run scared from zombies, goblins, ghouls and scary monsters! Don’t forget to wear a costume. You could win our costume contest. Participants will also receive a string back pack and skeleton gloves with every paid entrance.
After you’ve survived the race, celebrate at the post-race party with FREE admission to Nightmare Hallow Scream Park (in Running Aces Harness Park) which includes a free ticket for the Haunted Hay Ride, the BEST in the metro. For 23 years now, Nightmare Hallow Scream Park has been opening its creaky, cob-webbed doors to frightfully delightful ghosts, goblins and good old fashioned fun!
Nightmare Hallow Scream Park also features a best-in-the-state Zombie Hunt. Only if you dare! This is your chance to go deep into the woods and take on zombies one-by-one. Paintball guns will be setup on mobile trailers that will move through the haunted forest where attendees will be able to take their aim shooting glow in the dark paintballs at LIVE zombie actors. The result is glow in the dark splats throughout the trail on walking zombies, props and sets. Event runs on all days the park is open in October. All paintball equipment will be provided; tickets are on a first come basis. See how you fare against the walking dead! An experience you will not forget.

A portion of all runner registration will be donated to the OMGAA Delegation of the MN Special Olympics. Some of us who are putting together the Haunted Hay Run have been coaches for a number of years, and these athletes mean quite a bit to us. So, in order to give back to them, we thought this would be a great way to raise some money for the Special Olympics. In 2013, we had 25 athletes from the delegation out on the course dressed as zombies to chase the runners. It was overwhelmingly the best feature of the course. The athletes had non-stop stories about scaring the runners, and the runners told us about how awesome it was to have the zombies chasing them. The amount of joy from both sides is why we want to continue our partnership with OMGAA and the MN Special Olympics.
