2015 White Mountains Triathlons:
• In the majesty of the White Mountain National Forest and Franconia Notch State Park, this is perhaps the most awe inspiring race in the east.
• The course terrain offers incomparable similarity with, and the opportunity to gauge your preparedness for, Ironman Mont Tremblant 70.3 two weeks following and Ironman Lake Placid or IM Mont Tremblant later in the summer.
• You will not be disappointed.
• Our Half and "Oly" races take place SATURDAY in and throughout Franconia Notch State Park and the White Mountain National Forest. A more magnificent and awe-inspiring venue for a race cannot be found!!
• Swim in the crystalline waters of the Notch’s Echo Lake, ride among the fields and forests of the valley region, and along the rocky path of the Wild Ammonusuc River, through the majesty of the woods of the White Mountain National Forest.
• Our infamous “King of the Mountain” cash and coveted polka dot jersey awards will be made once again for the best climbers among men and women on a 1 mile section of the half course ascent to Kinsman Notch and the beauty of Beaver Pond at the mile 21 turnaround.
• For 2015, the Oly bike course will be expanded from 20.8 mi to 24 mi and will utilize the "big loop" of the half course.
• Feedback from our 2014 race has encouraged us to redesign the run course to "flatten" things out somewhat for a more enjoyable end to the day. This improvement will allow spectators to view athletes many times over three compact loops of 4.3 milies each ("Oly is one loop of 4.6 mi) over the fabulous paved recreation trail that winds from Cannon Mountain down by Echo Lake, by the Cannon Mountain Tramway, adjacent to Profile Lake and back.
• The scenery of the Notch is unmatched anywhere in New England and will provide those athletes headed to either IM70.3 Mont Tremblant two weeks hence or Lake Placid in July with the best tune-up event that can be found nearby.
