What began more than 20 years ago as a fundraiser to help one athlete, Jim MacLaren, to regain his independence after a tragic second accident has grown to become one of the most highly-regarded and motivational events in the triathlon world. Since that first event, the Aspen Medical Products San Diego Triathlon Challenge has been instrumental in raising the funds that have allowed more than 8,200 challenged athletes around the world to make it to the starting line and inspired a new generation to realize they have no limits.

Course Information:
La Jolla Cove is widely considered one of the most breathtaking beaches in the United States. This picturesque beach is surrounded by cliffs and is protected as part of a marine reserve. La Jolla Cove is an extremely popular location for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving. The beauty of this unique beach can not be overstated.
Lifeguards are on duty from 9:00 AM till sunset. The Cove has bathrooms, showers, and a picnic area.
