2014 SUNY Maritime College Ship to Shore Challenge:
• This fun and unique event that takes place on the SUNY Maritime campus involves a 1/4 mile swim in the East River and a flat 3.1 mile run around the beautiful campus setting.
• Race day campus parking and transition area access will be available starting at 7AM
Course Information:
Swim:
• The swim is a rectangle out and back course there athletes will have a beach start in the area near the ship’s pier and Shepard’s Ave and swim diagonal to the shore line keeping all swim buoys to their left.
• After completing the swim athletes will leave the beach area and head towards the transition area.
Run:
• After their transition, athletes will head East in a counter clock wise direction on the main campus road.
• Athletes will complete approximately two laps of the campus finishing near the outdoor Volley Ball Court and Fort Skyler.
