This was my second triathlon. When I first signed up I assumed it would be an indoor swim. I found out just before the race that it was outdoor open water swim. I committed a cardinal mistake and bought a new wet suit (shortie) and only used it the day of the race. The sleeves of the wet suit wore my arms out. I added 5 minutes to my time and when I got out of the water I was exhausted. The bike ride was short, but beware of the gravel we had a few riders go down with scraps, the run was fair, down and back. The route was marked well with signs for every mile marker on both bike and run. We wore a timing chip on the ankle and the time was logged for all the separate events. There were showers there to clean up in and they were in great shape. The food and drink was very plentiful after the race. The water was actually warm enough to go without the wet suit and given hind sight I would have went without one and improved my time substantually. In all it was a great race and a lot of fun. I would recommend it to all at all levels of experience. I would suggest that in the future that the race maps be posted.
