Overview
The RACE Rome Super Sprint Triathlon will take place on Darlington School's campus, 1014 Cave Spring Road, Rome, GA (30161).The swim portion of the race will be a 300-yard lake swim, the bike an 8.0-mile loop and a 2.0-mile run. The swim will take place in Darlington's Silver Lake. The bike portion of the race will loop through the rolling hills and beautiful scenery on the outskirts of Rome. The run will navigate through the 100 year old school campus and modern athletic grounds, ending beside the school's Morris Chapel. 

This triathlon is perfect for the experienced triathlete and novice triathlete. Also on the day of this race, at a staggered time, the RACE Rome Youth Triathlon will take place. So this is a great event for families who race together. Enter the kids in the youth race and adults race in the adult race. 

This event is also great for relay teams! Enter as a family, group, company or school relay team and be involved in our race! The team with the most participants will receive a $250 donation to the charity of your choice!

All race proceeds benefit Summit Quest, a non-profit organization that works with children and families faced with cancer.

Swim - 300 yards in the spring fed Silver Lake. Racers will enter the water one at a time.

Bike - 8.0-miles of rolling hills and beautiful scenery on the outskirts of Rome (loop course).

Run - 2.0-mile winds through the 100 year old Darlington's campus, finishing at beside Morris Chapel/near the TA.

Event Strategy

There will be no race day registration for this race.

 

All athletes must have a valid USAT membership. You may either purchase an annual or one-day USAT membership.

 

All athletes are required to show a photo ID at registration. No ID, No Race, No Exceptions. Every participant, including relay participants, must have a photo ID. Youth athletes without an ID must be accompanies by a parent/guardian with a photo ID. Annual members are required to bring their membership card. If your card has been lost, you may download and print out a temporary one at usatriathlon.org.

 

Packet pickup will be available the day before and the day of the event. Locations and times will be announced.

 

Chip pick-up, body marking and the transition area will be located beside the Chapel.

Spectator Tips

Spectators may view the swim from the banks of the Silver Lake. A portion of the bike as bikers leave and enter the campus can be viewed from Cave Spring Road. Runners can be viewed from many areas of the campus. The finish line and transition area are beside Morris Chapel.

 

Spectators will need a cooler with drinks and snacks. The campus has plenty of shade for spectators to sit and rest on a blanket/chairs as they wait for their athlete to cross the finish-line.
