The Lee A. Walker Memorial Scholarship 5
Mile Run is an annual fundraising even that benefits the high school
students of Franklin County Vermont. The course consists of
well-maintained back roads that present the beauty of Bakersfields
country life. Participants run past the LAWMSF memorial site where
Lee's life is honored by a flag and "land sign" on his childhood
home property. At the end of the course participants can enjoy the
Bakersfield BASH festivities and parade that take place during the
late morning and afternoon for the Fourth.
