RUN WILD IN NEBRASKA The Crane Trust’s 2nd Annual Buffalo Stampede 5K trail run-walk and Kids Mile will be held on a beautiful expanse of native Platte River habitat at the Crane Trust Nature & Visitor Center. After the race, you’re invited to grab a bite to eat, cool your heels in the Platte River waters, and hang out in our hands-on Habitat Zones with live native fish and wildlife.
Both races are run on mowed grassland trails—accurately measured, and timed.

As a non-profit organization, event proceeds will be dedicated to support Crane Trust conservation programs and activities along the Platte River.
Course Information:
The Buffalo Stampede 5K and Kids Mile races are run on mowed
grassland trails—accurately measured, and timed. Runners will experience the natural beauty of one of Nebraska's last great expanses of native tall-grass prairie on historic Shoemaker Island. The last one-third of the course meanders through wooded habitat along the bank of the Platte River before crossing over the river on two large footbridges to the finish line. Native grasses, wildlife and wildflowers abound.
Directions:
The Buffalo Stampede will be held at the Crane Trust Nature & Visitor Center, located just south off I-80 at the Alda Exit #305, 7 miles west of Grand Island, Nebraska.
