Mission Statement:

The Moose Lake Triathlon Committee is a working subgroup of the Moose Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. The Committee is interested in the development of new and innovative events in Moose Lake and surrounding areas. Our goals are to provide information and opportunities to our community members, also to increase the number and the quality of healthy activities in our area. The MLACC strives to provide a fun, healthy, and social atmosphere for members to pursue their individual development and achievements in our events. The Moose Triathlon participants truly represent a diverse group, with all manner of age, interest, ability, and experience, welcomed and valued equally. The event attracts serious racers as well as people interested in a fun physical challenge. The Team option serves to make this a less intimidating and social experience.

History:

The Moose Triathlon was started by a small group of friends interested in pushing their personal limits and created this great event. As the event grew, they were unable to keep up with demand and it was proposed that the Moose Lake Area Chamber of Commerce step in. A small, but dedicated group of Chamber Members volunteered to keep it alive and help the event become an annual event that people could look forward to. 2014 will be our second year running the event. We learned much from the first year, including organization, volunteers needed and the equipment needed to make it a safe and efficient event.
