Distances for 8-10 year olds: Swim 250 yards in 25 yard pool (10 laps) Bike 1/2 mile in residential area closed off to traffic and enforced by NYPD Run 1 mile around 1/8 mile outdoor track
Distances for 11-14 year olds: Swim: 400 yards in 25 yard pool (16 laps) Bike: 1 mile in resdiential area closed off to traffic and enforced by NYPD Run 1 mile around 1/8 mile outdoor track
Requirements: Swim: suit, cap, goggles, towel (must be able to swim the prescribed distances without any aid) Bike: bring your own bike and helmet, all riders MUST wear a helmet Run: sneakers, shorts, tshirt
All athletes will receive an event t shirt, a certficate and medal to comemmorate the day
Swim is in an indoor 25 yard pool
Bike is in residential of Bellrose closed off to traffic. Athletes wil pick up their bikes from the transition area located in the east parking lot and walk the bike to the corner of Hillside and 239th St. Athletes will get on their bikes at this corner, proceed down 239th St and make a left on 87th Ave and head west to 241 St. Athletes will make a right on 241 St and ride to 86th Ave and ride back to 239 St. Younger athletes will return to the transition area at this point. Older athletes will proceed to complete another loop before returning to the transition area.
Run is on an outdoor track, 1/8 mile around, located behind the YMCA. Athletes will do 8 laps around the track.
Cross Island YMCA is located at 238-10 Hillside Ave in Bellerose, just west of the Cross Island Parkway.
