The first edition of the Storm the Fort Half will be held at the race venue made popular by the Storm the Fort Olympic Distance triathlon. The first running of the 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile course will include a wave start triangular swim course, followed by a rural bike course that is an extension of the Storm the Fort Olympic distance course. Bike course is rolling terrain, no major climbs, with three bottle exchanges. The run course will be two laps of the former Storm the Fort Olympic course on the Kingston greenway and through downtown Kingston, with each lap running through famous Fort Southwest Point. The run course will include fully stocked aid stations ~ every mile. Greenlayer performance shirts, Storm the Fort Logo socks, logo water bottles, and Race for the Cannon finisher visors to all participants. Miniature cannon awards to age groups, and the coveted genuine cannonball awards to overall male and female winners. Post race food catered by Carmellas of Kingston. USAT sanctioned race.
2014 Storm the Fort Sprint Triathlon:
The 600 yard/13 mile bike/4 mile run sprint course is the same course made popular by the Smokin the Water triathlon in 2012-13. Wave start out and back swim. Fairly flat (by East TN standards) bike course. Out and back around the Fort run on the Kingston greenway. Greenlayer performance shirts and race logo socks to the first 200 registrants, with post- race food provide by Subway. New for 2014 are the mini cannon awards made popular at Storm the Fort Olympic in the past. Third leg of the 2014 Fleet Feet Grand Prix Sprint Series. USAT sanctioned race.
