Both the Sprint and Olympic Race begin with a swim in Bald Eagle Lake, a beautiful private lake in the heart of Steamboat Springs. Athletes will transition from Bald Eagle Lake with a short ride then connect with Mt. Werner / the main Ski Mountain in Steamboat Springs where they will enjoy an incredible system of trails on the bike and run. Athletes will finish at the base of Mt. Werner in Gondola Square for awards and after party.

4:00 6:00 pm Packet Pickup Bald Eagle Lake
4:00 6:00 pm Bald Eagle Lake open for practice swim
5:00pm Open Water swim Clinic with 5x Ironman Champion Heather Gollnick
SUNDAY August 31st, 2014
6:00 am Transition T2 open at Gondola Square base of Mt. Werner
6:00 am Transition T1 open at Bald Eagle Lake
6:00 am 7:30 am Body Marking / Chip Timing Handed Out
6:00 am 7:30 am Shuttles will run from Gondola Square to Bald Eagle Lake
8:00 am XTERRA Women Olympic Race Start
8:20 am XTERRA Women Sprint Race Start
8:30 am Expo Area open Gondola Square, Music and Food
11:00 am T2 Open Transition bags available
11:30 am Awards Ceremony Gondola Square
Race Day Instructions
There are 2 transitions:
Swim/bike transition (T1) is at Bald Eagle Lake.
Bike/run transition (T2) is at the base of Mt. Werner Gondola Square.
Allow enough time on race day to setup both transitions.
Transition Bag:
You will be provided with a transition bag at packet pickup.
Write your race number on both sides of the bag and bring it with you to T1 (swim/bike transition) on race morning.
Race Day Instructions:
First set up T2 at Gondola Square base of Mt. Werner.
Then, bike or drive to Bald Eagle Lake and set up T1.
Body marking, swim cap and timing chip distribution are at T1.
After the swim, put your wetsuit and all belongings in your transition bag and close it up.
We will deliver transition bags to T2.
We are not responsible for items left outside of your bag or in open bags.
