Asheville. Found on virtually every top 10 list for everything from craft beer to chocolate to quality of living, it is also the home of the Enka Triathlon at Biltmore Lake. The race is in its seventh year with Glory Hound Events at the helm and is proud to now be part of the North Carolina Triathlon Series.
The race is centered around the beautiful Biltmore Lake community and features a 750-meter swim in the private lake, a 17.5 mile rolling bike leg in the farmland and rural areas of southern Buncombe County and a 3.1 mile run that takes you around the lake for a finish in front of friends, family and neighborhood residents.
We welcome everyone to come to Asheville to race and have fun. Whether you are an individual or part of a team, everyone will feel welcome.
The swim takes place in the private Enka Lake where motorized vehicles are not permitted.
The bike course is scenic and challenging on two lane roads throughout the Beaverdam and Hominy communities of Buncombe County. The course features two moderate climbs at the 3 and 11 mile marks.
The run takes place primarily on the trail that circles Enka Lake except for a one-mile loop in a the neighborhood adjacent to the lake.
Great post race food has been a tradition of this race since the beginning and we are pleased to announce Earth Fare will be once again providing lunch for all athletes and volunteers this year. The menu will be announced closer to the race.
