2014 Pineapple Kidz Triathlon, Duathlon & Relay:


This event is for all kids ages 4-16. There is also a family 1 mile race ($10 per runner) for kids and adults and the proceeds from that race will be donated to a charitable organization. A free 100 yard dash for kids ages 6 and under will take place.

Join us for a weekend of multi-sport fun in beautiful, historic Melbourne Beach, Florida.

The Pineapple Kidz Triathlon & Duathlon is scheduled for Saturday, May 31st, 2014 in Melbourne Beach, Florida.

This youth event is taking place 1 day before the Rotary Pineapple Man Triathlon in the same location. 

This is a USAT event and all athletes must have their 1 day or annual USAT membership to participate.


Course Information:

The Duathlon has 4 age groups from age 4-14. Athletes will start with a 200 yard dash down Ocean Avenue, transition to cycle a 2.2 mile loop along scenic Riverside Drive and into the local neighborhood and transition to run in the neighborhood to the finish line on Ocean Avenue.


The Triathlon features 2 age groups and a relay category. Age groups are 11-13 and 14-16. Athletes will swim north in the river out and back, transition to start their cycle, a 2.2 mile loop along scenic Riverside Drive and into the local neighborhood. Athletes will transition to run a 1 mile loop in the neighborhood and to the finish line on Ocean Avenue.


The relay can consist of two or three athletes up to age 16 and must be comfortable swimming 150 yards in the river. Only kids who have no fear swimming in the river and who are over the age off 11 should consider the swim. The bike is 6.6 miles and the run is 2 miles.
