Extreme North Dakota Iceman Triathlon (END-IT) : Off Road |
Triathlon : Skiing (4+miles), Biking (8+miles) and Running (3+miles) |
The Biking section will be almost entirely on the paved Greenway bike path - a regular mountain bike will be suitable for this section. The ski section will involve classic XC skiing along a groomed trail for over half of it's length, and then a marked backcountry section for which, depending on recent snowfall and snow-mobile activity, the leaders may have to 'break trail'. If we can secure the use of snowshoes from a sponsor, the running sections will be a bit shorter and be a mix of snow mobile trails and a few off trail sections. If we're not able to provide snowshoes, at least 90% of the running will be along snow-mobile trails. In this latter case, individuals will still have the option of bringing and wearing their own snowshoes.
Registration fees include - race number, use of XC skis (if needed - these are available on a first come first served basis the morning of the race - if possible please provide your own), use of sled (if needed, again please bring your own if possible), post race refreshments, Swag bag, prizes for top teams and individuals (to be determined based on local sponsorships!), and door prizes.
To register, send an email to: Joel Larson ([email protected]) with your name (or your team name and participant names), and preferred email address. Please include "Iceman Registration" in the subject line. Then send a check for the entry amount, made out to Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals to:
