This is our third year of this greatly anticipated and exciting event. We guarantee successful management and a positive impression on the City of Newburgh. We are striving to make this a family and community driven event. The OCTRI will bring the community together and promote not only a healthy lifestyle but the feeling of community support and pride. The OCTRI strives to put Newburgh in the news for a positive event and to bring residents together for a collaborative, healthy, community driven, spirited morning. This event will host athletes of all skill levels to compete on a scenic riverside course perfect for the novice through the seasoned and even expert triathlete. Message from the Race Directors

On behalf of the entire 2013 Orange County Triathlon Staff, local officials, our generous sponsors, and dedicated volunteers, we are excited to welcome you to the 3rd annual Orange County Triathlon.

The Orange County Triathlon (OCTRI) is not just a race, but a demonstration of community support, spirit and pride. We are proud of the beautiful City of Newburgh and all that Orange County has to offer our racers, family members and friends who travel from across the country to compete at this extraordinary race that features the beautiful Hudson River landscape.

The OCTRI is a celebration of all the training and effort exercised by every athlete who prepares to participate; a combination of thousands of miles of swimming, biking and running to get to the starting line and demonstrate spirit and endurance. There is an intrinsic connection among our race participants, the hundreds of spectators who line our streets to cheer, and our countless, dedicated volunteers who give this event a steady pulse. The energy and excitement of this already established event soars with every cheer and every passing mile marker.

Thanks to the tireless devotion of the Orange County Triathlon volunteers, sponsors and our race participants, the OCTRI has grown into a prestigious global event and one of the best venues that gives so much back to the community. More than $10,000 dollars was raised in the 2012 OCTRI for local causes. Local businesses will be boosted by the large economic impact generated by the thousands of racers and visitors who travel to our county.

Although new in age, the OCTRI has had hundreds of participants cross the finish line. On July 14, 2013, you will become part of the legacy and part of our history. This years elite athletes, charity triathletes and hundreds of others with personal goals and stories are what make the OCTRI a magical event. We enjoy every minute of its planning and feel fortunate to be a part of this extraordinary event.
