This was with out a doubt the worst managed youth tri I have ever seen. Any parent that is a triathlete and uses this race to introduce their child to this sport would be utterly baffeled and fustrated by the total lack of communication and saftey of the course not to mention the fact that the times were erroneous due to bad course management. I made the mistake of letting my youngest do this race and after she " apparently" won second in her category and was enthralled by doing so found that due to poor communication and course directions by race offi is left her out of placing at all. How can a parent who loves this sport not be angry about letting their 9 yrld know that their awesome finish was stripped away due to lack of planning and total disregard for parents and children. I say this only due to the fact that the same issues were rampant in the previous year. The YMCA director present, when approached, gave me the impression that he could have cared less. I would strongly reccomend that this race be avoided, as there are plenty of others that offer children a great induction into a truly great sport.
