The Tarpon Tri is a sprint distance triathlon located in Houma, LA, specifically in the Bayou Black community.
The swim is a pool swim, and the bike and run portions take place along the gentle curves of scenic Bayou Black, making for a picturesque race.
There is a park at the recreation center (the site of the race) which is great for entertaining the kids as well as large shelters with picnic tables creating a great atmosphere to enjoy the post race activities and mingling with friends and family!
This is a great race for any level of triathlete from beginner through more experienced triathletes of all ages.
We also allow relay teams to enter the race adding to the fun and excitement of the event!

Tarpon Triathlon Course Info:
This is a mini sprint distance triathlon with a 150 meter staggered start pool swim.
The bike is a 10 mile ride along the gentle curves of Bayou Black with a turn around at the 5 mile point.
The run also goes along Bayou Black, but the opposite direction as the bike portion.
This event takes place along a road that does not have heavy traffic flow and traffic is easily diverted around the course onto the opposite side of the bayou with only local traffic being allowed through.
