Swamp Stomp : Off Road |
Adventure Race : 30 Hour Adventure Race |
Son of Swamp Stomp : Off Road |
Adventure Race : 6-8 Hour Adventure Race |
Swamp Stomp and Son of Swamp Stomp promise to offer challenges unique to the race location and take you to places seldom visited. Now in its SIXTH YEAR, this race will held in yet another new, beautiful area of natural Florida!
Swamp Stomp teams should expect to spend 30 hours on the course. The disciplines will be equally challenging and each will comprise 1/3 of the time on the course (approximately 10 hours each). The Modified Rogaine format includes multiple Mandatory and Bonus Checkpoints. Teams must collect all Mandatory CPs while collecting as many Bonus CPs as time allows. We are planning the course so that ALL teams can collect all of the Mandatory Checkpoints within the 30-Hour Limit, and the top teams will be able acquire all of both Mandatory AND Bonus checkpoints; ALL teams should be able to collect all of the Mandatory Checkpoints. The challenge is collecting as many Bonus Points in shortest time. Strategy will be key!
Son of Swamp Stomp 6 8 HR (SSS) is a new, shorter course we are adding for 2010. SSS will cover a portion of the Swamp Stomp course, but without as many of the navigation challenges, and without spending the night in the swamp! SSS is a standard point-to-point format (not modified rogaine).
The 2010 Swamp Stomp will be held somewhere north of Tampa, Florida (about an hour north). More details to be disclosed in January at www.wecefar.com/phpBB3.
Son of Swamp Stomp begins 10 am Saturday morning, with teams finishing 5 - 7 pm with food and awards at 7 pm. There will be a prescribed route but the course will be UNMARKED!
