The 25th Annual Surf Town Triathlon & Duathlon is Sunday, August 25, 2013 at 7:00 a.m. The races start and finish at Imperial Beach Pier Park in Imperial Beach (Southern San Diego County).
The Triathlon and Duathlon both start near the Imperial BeachPortwoodPierPlaza.
SWIM: The swim will take place in the open ocean, swimmers will head 150 yards out into the surfline, at the turn buoy, they will head north 200 yards to the next turn buoy and then head towards shore.
DUATHLON RUN #1: Duathletes will start with an out-and-back 1 mile run along Seacoast and Carnation.
BIKE: All athletes will then complete a 9 mile (appx.) bike loop. Starting on Seacoast, they will head south. They will turn east on Imperial Beach Blvd. They will turn south on 5th Street. Turn east on Iris Ave. They will enter Ream Field and complete 2 full laps around the air strip, returning to the transition area via the same route.
RUN: All athletes will exit the transition area on Seacost Drive. and head North. At Carnation Ave, they will head east. At Silver Strand Blvd, they will head North. Upon entering NRRF, they will turn right on the perimeter road. They will continue to the turnaround and return to the finish line via the outbound route in the opposite direction
From San Diego: From I-5 south take the Palm Ave. (Hwy. 75) exit and follow it to where Palm Ave. and Hwy. 75 divide. Follow Palm Ave. to Seacoast Drive, turn left, and the Imperial Beach Pier will be on your right
Take the CA-75 Highway South until Rainbow Rd. Take a right on Rainbow Rd, and then a right on Palm Ave. Follow Palm until you reach Seacoast Dr. Turn left onto Seacoast, and the Imperial Beach Pier will be on your right
