This trail run is a fundraising race in which all of the procedes goes towards the purchase of 4,000 acres of open space, the exact same open space the race is on. Just North of Cave Creek is some of the most pristine Sonoran Desert you will find in all of Arizona, which is why we are trying to save it. With its isolation there is a tremendous amount of flora and fauna, a perfect setting for our trail run.
You will be running on primitive trails that are primarily used by wildlife and equestrians.
The route will take you down through sandy washes, up and over hills and down them too, over loose rock and stiff ones and yes, cactus as well, so don't forget your comb and tweezers.
You will go through an amazing saguaro stand and have breathtaking views of the surrounding area.
Once your in Cave Creek, go north on Spur Cross Road until you reach the HUGE dirt parking lot.
