Triathlon : approx 600 yd open water swim loop with std triathlon buoy markers |
Directions
1. From I-495 (Beltway) - take I-66 toward Manassas and Front Royal to exit #40 (Haymarket).
2. Exit #40 is approximately 45 minutes from 1-495.
3. Take exit #40, then left on US Rte 15 South back across I-66.
4. At traffic light, turn right on VA Rte 55 West.
5. Proceed 4 miles (1 mile past RR tracks).
6. Look for SCUBA drum on left.
General Rules for Quarry Swimmer Use
1. Quarry gate opens at 8:00am, open water swimmers may not enter before 2:15 PM, and ONLY if preregistered through www.rehabtoracing.com
2. Speed limit is 5 MPH -- !
3. All persons -- swimmers and non-swimmers alike -- must have a quarry ticket. You MUST print your swimmers quarry ticket from www.rehabtoracing.com. The Quarry Master will have a list of pre-paid entrants.
4. No boats or water craft are permitted.
5. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in ejection with no refund.
6. No pets, not even in your car.
7. For safety reasons, and due to water temperatures, you MUST swim at all times in an open water swimming wetsuit. Fastskins, Aquapel suits, etc are NOT allowed. Please do even go into the water without your wetsuit on as areas very close to the swim entry point are 90 ft deep.
8. Swimmers may only enter the water at beach 3.

Handy Items to Bring Along
1. Something to drink
2. Snacks to eat (Sheetz is a convenience store if you forget something)
3. Dry change of clothing thats easy to get on; there are no changing facilities.
4. Tarp or plastic to lay your things on.
