You have come to love the Tri for the Kids Youth Triathlon, so come join us for the second annual RACE Rome Youth Triathlon to be coupled with the RACE Rome Sprint Triathlon. The race will feature a kid friendly lake swim with the course lined with kayaks,a bike on a closed to traffic Cave Spring Rd, and a run around the picturesque lake on Darlington's beautiful campus. There will be a junior (ages 7-9) and senior (ages 10-14) division with distances appropriate for both. Our racing philosphy is to have fun, work hard, have fun, smile, have fun!
Course Information:
The course is on the Darlington School Campus on Cave Spring Rd. in Rome, GA. The swim will be in the lake next to Darlington's Chapel with lots of in-water volunteers and kayaks lining the swim route, bike on a closed to traffic Cave Spring Rd and run will be around the picturesque Lake on the main campus.
Directions:
Rome is located approximately 1 hour 15 minutes north of Atlanta. From Atlanta's perimeter (I-285), take I-75 North about 45 miles to Exit 290 (Rome/ Canton). Turn left on Georgia route 20. After three miles, you will come to a three-way traffic light. Turn left and then take an immediate right up a ramp onto US 41 north. Proceed three miles and then exit onto US 411 south and travel about 25 miles toward Rome. Take the Darlington Drive exit. Turn left at the dead end, go 200 feet, and then turn right on Darlington Drive. Darlington Drive dead-ends into the campus gates. Limited parking is available beside the Chapel, racers are encouraged to park by the Huffman Center.
