2012 RACE Rome Sprint Triathlon:

Join us in Rome, Georgia for the 5th Annual RACE Rome Sprint Triathlon (formerly called Navigator Triathlon)!

This year's race will again take place at Darlington School.

New this year, the sprint will start at 8 a.m. and the youth triathlon will follow at 12:30 a.m.

Awards will be presented to the top 3 overall m/f, top 3 masters m/f, Clydesdale, Athena, male/female/coed team winners, top 3 in each age division.

All race proceeds benefit the Open Door Home, a non-profit organization that does an outstanding job of providing for the needs of the dependent, neglected, and/or abused children of Northwest Georgia and helping them to live a healthier, happier and more productive life.

Course Information:

Swim -
500 yard out & back lake swim.
Racers will enter the water one at a time.

Bike -
Rolling hills and great scenery on the outskirts of Rome (loop course).

Bike Directions -

Right onto Cave Spring Rd. from Darlingtons campus and transition area;

Right onto Park Ave.;

Right onto Black Bluff Rd.;

Turn around on Black Bluff Rd. and Pennington;

Right onto Walker Mtn. Rd.;

Left at Triangle Bait Shop;

Right back onto Walker Mt. Rd.;

Left onto Black Bluff Rd.;

Right onto Park Ave.;

Left onto Cave Spring Rd.;

Left into Darlington Campus on Darlington Way

Run -
Leave the transition area and run through the Darlington campus, around Silver Lake and through the tunnel to Darlingtons athletic fields and around the cross country course.
Finish on the track at Hunter Stadium.

Directions:

Darlington School is located 1 hr. 15 minutes north of Atlanta.

From Atlanta's perimeter (I-285):

Take I-75 North about 45 miles to Exit 290 (Rome/ Canton).

Turn left on Georgia route 20.

After three miles, you will come to a three-way traffic light.

Turn left and then take an immediate right up a ramp onto US 41 north.

Proceed three miles and then exit onto US 411 south and travel about 25 miles toward Rome.

Take the Darlington Drive exit.

Turn left at the dead end, go 200 feet, and then turn right on Darlington Drive.

Darlington Drive dead-ends into the campus gates.

The transition area is located beside the Chapel.

Racers can park in the Chapel parking lot or at the football stadium.
