2012 Strive 2 Tri Youth Splash & Dash:

The Strive 2 Tri Youth Splash & Dash is a short course Aquathon consisting of a pool swim in a 50 meter pool followed by a run according to the age of the participant.

This event is designed to introduce young athletes to the fun and challenges of a multisport race event.

Young athletes distances include Ages 7-10 (100m swim and 1K run), Ages 11-14 (200m swim and 2K run)&Ages 15-17 (300m swim and 3K run).

In addition athletes may form 2 Person Relay teams to partner with a buddy and still participate in the event as a way to become familiar with the sport.

Lastly there will be a Youth Team Challenge (8 participants) which will allow youth organized teams can compete for grant donations to help support their local club.

Spectators will enjoy the scenic atmosphere of the beautiful Paint Branch Park which includes a lake, ample space for family picnics, BBQ grills and a Farmers Market at the event.

Note:

Event director reserves the right to change the course due to safety concerns on the morning of the event.

A modified course will be the first option unless severe conditions force event cancellation.

There is a no refund policy if this event is cancelled due to severe weather conditions.

Course Information:

Swim: 50 meter pool. Athletes will "snake-swim" traversing lanes according to the distance illustrated below to complete the distance.

Transition: A transition area will be provided for athletes to store their race gear and towel. While the area will be closed to the public and will be monitored by volunteers, please do not leave valuables unattended in transition. Event management cannot guarantee the safety of your personal belongings.

Run: Scenic run on the Paint Branch Trail on a turn-around course which is closed to vehicular traffic.

Ages 7-10
Kid's Swim: 100 m 2 lengths (1 lap) of the 50 meter pool or 200 m 4 lengths (2 laps) of the 50 meter pool or 300 m 6 lengths (3 laps) of the 50 meter pool.
Kid's Run: A 1K, 2K or 3K run on the Paint Branch Trail.
