The Nahant Triathlon is a sprint distance triathlon with a retro theme. This is a great triathlon for the first timer with an emphasis on fun!
1/3 mile shallow swim, 11.5 mile bike, and 3.5 mile run.
Groovy post race party with live music, pizza, and beer!
Course Information:
Swim Course
1/3 shallow-rectangular swim. Start at the Coast Guard house straight to a buoy 100 yards out, take a right at buoy 1, head towards buoy 2 approximately .2miles, turn right at buoy 2 and finish at the concrete path across from the captains. Wetsuits are recommended.
Bike Course
11.5 Mile Course. This will be a two loop course through Little and Big Nahant. Bike will start at the transition area on Nahant Rd. Continue up Nahant Rd. to Little Nahant. Bikers will take a right on Little Nahant Rd. around Little Nahant back to Nahant Rd. Following Nahant Rd. back taking a right onto Castle Rd. to taking a left onto Flash Rd. Continue onto Spring Rd. taking a right onto Emerald Rd. Next take a left onto Willow Rd. then left onto Cliff Rd. and right onto Vernon St. Proceed to take a left onto Swallow Cave Rd., right onto Cliff Rd. and lastly take a left onto Nahant Rd. and finish the first loop by the transition area.
Run course
3.5M Run-Rolling Hills. Runners will exit the transition area, continue up Nahant Rd. into Big Nahant, continuing around to Cliff St. Runners will turn right onto Willows Rd. and straight onto Valley Rd. Proceed left onto Spring Rd. continuing onto Flash Rd. Runners will then take a right onto Fox Hill Rd., right onto Castle Rd. right onto Ward Rd. with the finish line being in the baseball field.
