Course Information:
Now in its fifth year, the Nottingham Kids Triathlon presented by MINI COW TRI CLUB encourages healthy lifestyle choices through multisport with an emphasis on fun! Open to all knights and maidens ages 7 to 15 (age as of December 31, 2012, per USA Triathlon age up rules), the Nottingham Kids Triathlon will challenge young triathletes with graduated race distances based on age:
7-8 year olds: 50 yard swim, 2 mile bike, .5 mile run
9-10 year olds: 100 yard swim, 2 mile bike, .5 mile run
11-12 year olds: 100 yard swim, 4 mile bike, 1 mile run
13-15 year olds: 150 yard swim, 4 mile bike, 1 mile run
The races will be run consecutively, with our older triathletes starting first. Triathletes will be grouped in waves based on age, and all races will start and finish at the Nottingham Swim Club.
The swim takes place in the Nottingham Swim Club's 25 meter, six lane, outdoor pool. The bike course is a two mile loop through the rolling hills of Nottingham (11-15 year olds will complete two loops). The run is flat and fast with a cross country style finish.
