2012 San Francisco Triathlon at Alcatraz:

  • While swimming from Alcatraz Island was once thought to be impossible, athletes from across the country will gather this year to make the treacherous swim, fighting strong currents and a looming fear of what lies below the water's surface.
  • The San Francisco Triathlon at Alcatraz is an International Distance race and consists of a 1.2-mile swim, 25-mile bike, and 7-mile run.
  • Participants can race as individuals or as part of a relay team, and there are special divisions for youth and collegiate teams.
  • Course Information:

The Tri-California San Francisco Triathlon at Alcatraz will take place on Sunday, July 8, 2012.
