June Lake Triathlon brings the triathlon tradition to a majestic Alpine setting.
Swim in clear and crisp June Lake
Bike around the lake basin loop road among mountains and lakes
Run up outrageous trails with spectacular mountain views
The event celebrates the Mountain culture with awards made by local artists, gourmet post-race lunch and runs only on energy captured by the sun. The shores of June Lake hosts a race expo, family activities and an awards celebration all surrounding the START/FINISH and TRANSITION.
This event sustains the High Sierra Triathlon Club, a 501c3 non-profit organization that promotes endurance events and training in the High Sierra
and works in partnership with a like-minded non-profit, Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra, which helps athletes of all abilities and disabilities to participate in outdoor athletics including skiing, cycling and mountaineering.
DIRECTIONS TO JUNE LAKE:
Just 30 miles south of Yosemite, 14 miles north of Mammoth Lakes and 5 miles southwest of Mono Lake, June Lake is a hidden jewel of California!
From L.A.: (approximately 5 hour drive) 5 North to 14 North to 395 North Turn LEFT at June Lake South Junction/HWY 158/June Lake Loop (west side of Highway) - at the Shell Station.
From San Diego: (approximately 7 hour drive)15 North to 395 North Turn LEFT at June Lake South Junction/HWY 158/June Lake Loop (west side of Highway) - at the Shell Station.
From Reno: (approximately 3 hour drive) 395 South Turn RIGHT at June Lake South Junction/HWY 158/June Lake Loop (west side of Highway) - at the Shell Station.
DIRECTIONS TO JUNE LAKE BEACH: Official Race Site, (site for Friday packet pick up 12-4pm and 2pm race orientation) Once on June Lake Loop/Hwy 158, turn Right onto Northshore Drive at Oh! Ridge area.
1/2 mile turn Left onto Pine Cliff Road
1/4 mile turn Right onto Beach Road (sign to beach)
1 mile into the first parking lot on right
DIRECTIONS TO JUNE MOUNTAIN SKI AREA (Friday pre-race dinner) From race site, turn left onto Northshore Drive until road Ts at Highway 158 (June Lake Loop). Left onto Highway 158 and immediate right into parking lot for June Mountain Ski Area.
THIS YEAR MANDATORY PARKING AT JUNE MOUNTAIN PARKING LOT ONLY!
For past years racers, this is a big change. There will be NO parking along Northshore Dr, Pinecliff Drive or Beach Road. Parking is only allowed in the June Mountain Parking Lot.
SHUTTLE RUNS every 15 minutes between overflow parking lot (June Mountain) and race from 5am-7:45am and again from 11:00am to 2pm. There will be limited shuttle service during the bike portion of the races for safety reasons. Shuttles are equipped with bike trailers to take racers bicycles .
Alternatives to the shuttle:
RIDE to the race: You may also park at June Mountain and ride your bike to the race (uphill though)
CARPOOL to the race site: You may be dropped off from ANOTHER person who can only drop you off at the race site, but who would need to go back to the parking lot and shuttle back to the race site. Racers may not drive themselves to the race site to drop off gear, only be dropped off by another person.
DIRECTIONS TO JUNE MOUNTAIN PARKING LOT FROM RACE SITE:
From swim beach head out on Pinecliff Road.
Left onto North Shore Drive.
Left onto Highway 158 (June Lake Loop) at STOP sign.
Immediate Right into JUNE MOUNTAIN parking lot. (practically across the street)
Could also go thru town: then directions would be, from Hwy 395 one would take Hwy 158 at Shell Station, stay on 158 through June Lake until June Mtn and turn left into parking lot ..
In addition to these directions:

From HWY 395, turn into the June Lake Loop (Hwy 158) at the South Junction (the Shell Station)
