_The 2024 USAT Open Water Swim Clinics:

Join us in the suburbs (Crystal Lake Main Beach) for an USAT open water swim clinics. Clinics are conducted by Jennifer Harrison - JHC Coaching, Gemma Hollis Push Glide Kick, LLC and help from Trudy Wakeman - Race Production by Trudy.

Each clinic will start with a check in is 6 p.m. and run until 8:30 p.m Rain call will be done by 4 p.m. that date. Rainout make up will be the very next day (Thursday)

Swim dates are:

Wednesday, May 31 and June 1 as the rain date

Wednesday, June 7 and June 8 as the rain date

Wednesday, June 21 and June 22 as the rain date.

What will be cover: wetsuit tips, OW sighting practice, starts, race strategies and positioning, pack swimming, time trial starts, how to swim in a straight line with others, various goggle choices and why. The group will be divided into skills level and comfort in open water. Each session will modify according to groups' abilities and no one session is the same.

Crystal Lake Main Beach Facilities include: Free parking across from beach, restrooms and outdoor showers (might be a little chilly). All swims will be lifeguarded, coached, and be split into groups according to level of experience and comfort in the water. Water temperature ranges from 60-75 so please plan accordingly.

OUR INSTRUCTORS:

Jennifer Harrison (JHC Coaching) has been coaching athletes for 25 years. Jennifer coaches a wide variety of athletes from pure runners to Ironman athletes. She works with all levels of athletes from beginners to professional athletes. She is an accomplished triathlete winning area sprint races to participating in the Hawaii Ironman. Her love for swimming brings her knowledge to the lake shore.

Gemma Hollis founder of Push Glide Kick LLC. Originally from the UK, Gemma settled in The Woodlands TX after living and working outside the UK for the last 16yrs, in Dubai, Singapore and more recently California. She is focused on balancing technique with training to ensure efficiency and effective development for all. As an avid triathlete, passionate about the sport and helping people achieve their goals within it. Gemma understands the importance of swimming in triathlon, also how swimming in open water is different to the pool and the skills required to be successful.

Current USAT membership is required. One Day membership can cover all three clinics.

Cancellation Policy: If weather is a factor, the call will be made by 4 p.m. swim date. Your registration fee will transfer to the 'rain date' or other available dates.
