The City Scramble : |
Adventure Race : 5 miles |
The City Scramble is an exciting day of clues, challenges, charities and a big $500 1st place cash prize! Each team must be made up of 2 people. All teams will receive their clue list at the same time. You'll want to figure them out quickly and start running. Remember, only your feet can be used as transportation! If caught using anything else, you'll be disqualified from the race. You are welcome to use all sorts of technology though (smart phones, digital cameras, maps, etc. are encouraged) and friends to figure out the clues and map out your route. All Scrambles are between 4 and 6 miles if routed logically. There is no defined route though and this is NOT a closed course event so be careful. It's up to you if you want to turn left or right first.
You'll want to bring your own map, camera and something to write with is usually helpful too. Everyone will receive a City Scramble t-shirt, but we LOVE seeing your own team shirts too! You'll have about 12 stops to make on this adventure. A photo with both team members must be taken at each of them to prove you were there. Some even have a challenge for you to take on. Think backyard fun like a 3 legged race, ball toss, puzzles, etc. A City Scramble volunteer will be there to guide you through each of the challenges and stamp your clue sheet proving your success. A 20 minute penalty is issued for any stop not completed correctly. Most teams take 2-3 hours to complete the race. We'll come looking for you after 4!
Check-in begins at 8:00am and the race will start promptly at 9:00am. The start/finish line is at Relax Grill located off the sidewalk on the northwest corner of Lake Eola.
Bring at least 3 canned food items and earn 5 minutes off your race time! Our charity the Community Food & Outreach Center thanks you! http://www.communityfoodoutreach.org/
