_ The 2024 Tulsa Area Triathletes Spring Fever Triathlon:
The Spring Fever Triathlon is a great race for beginner triathletes as well as experienced racers. Many local and regional athletes began their triathlon “careers” at this event. The Spring Fever Sprint Triathlon is held at the Jenks Aquatic Center featuring an indoor Olympic sized pool located in Jenks, Oklahoma. The bike and run segments include a tour of beautiful Green Country just south of Tulsa.
Course Information:
400 Yard Swim
The swim segment is a 400 yard snake swim in the indoor Olympic sized pool at the Jenks Aquatic Center. Lanes will be roped off for 25 yard lanes and racers will complete 16 pool lengths. Racers will move to the next lane at each turn.
The transition area is located in the parking lot just outside the Jenks Aquatic Center. Racers will exit the pool and prepare for their bike ride in the transition area. After the swim racers enter the north (far) end of the transition area and exit with their bike on the same north end. Racers must push their bike past the mount line prior to getting on their bike.
As a racer finishes the bike course they approach the transition area from the north and continue to the south end of the transition area. Racers must completely dismount from their bike before they cross the dismount line. Racers will push their bike into the transition area, place their bike back on the rack, and exit the transition area on the south end to begin their run. Volunteers will be stationed to provide directions. Be sure and follow their instructions.
12 Mile Bike
The bike course provides a 12-mile tour of the well-known Green Country south of Tulsa and west of Jenks. The entire course is paved and is mostly flat with a few rolling hills. Bicyclists return to the transition area to begin their run.
2 Mile Run
The 2-mile run course is on paved streets that wind through Jenks’ neighborhoods and ends at the Jenks High School Track Field. After a lap around the track racers and spectators participate in the finishers’ line festival.
