_ The 2023 D54 Run to Read:
Join School District 54 in supporting literacy and promoting health and fitness for the young and old by participating in the 19th annual Run to Read. All proceeds for the event will be used to support literacy in School District 54 by purchasing books for the classrooms of new teachers. We are currently planning the Run to Read 2023 to be held in person on Sept. 17, starting and ending at Dirksen School in Schaumburg. This event will include a 5K run/walk, a 1-mile walk and children’s races. You are also welcome to participate virtually by walking or running any distance during race weekend.
In addition to participating, please consider making a monetary donation to the D54 Foundation’s Crisis Fund, which provides groceries, gas and other essential items for families experiencing financial hardships or troubled situations.
Not a runner? With a $10 donation, you can sponsor a D54 student whose family cannot afford to participate in this race. For $20, you can sponsor 2 children. For $100 you can sponsor 10. You get the idea.
