_ The 2024 Lavaman Waikoloa:
We are excited to announce that the Lavaman Triathlon will be celebrating its 25th anniversary on April 7, 2024. Join us for this iconic event located on the Big Island of Hawaii at the Waikoloa Beach resort and fabulous Anaeho’omalu Bay. We have some special 25th anniversary items for all athletes.
Lavaman takes place on the spectacular island of Hawai'i. Swim in beautiful Anaeho'omalu Bay, ride through the lava fields on the iconic Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway and run through Waikoloa resort, finishing on the beach.
Lavaman has been voted “Best Awards Party in Triathlon” ~ Beer Garden, Live Music, Beach BBQ under the coconut grove at beautiful Anaeho’omalu Bay. We will have some special 25th anniversary items for all athletes.
New for 2024, we are offering a duathlon option. In lieu of the swim, Duathletes will run an out and back 3k starting and finishing at transition.

Course Information:
Olympic Distance (1.5K Swim, 40K Bike and 10K Run) Swim at Anaehoomalu Bay at the Waikoloa Beach Resort. The Bike ride is out and back on the Queen Ka`ahumanu Hwy. then back into the resort. T1 & T2 are in the same location. The run is through the Waikoloa Beach Resort & the grounds of the Hilton Waikoloa Village and has varied terrain consisting of lava, sand, coral trail, road, lawn, & flagstone path with a beach finish. Trail shoes are recommended over racing flats.
