_The 2023 Florida Training Camps:

WHAT: All camps are put on by the Ruble Triathlon Coaching and my hired experienced SAG support teaam.  Training is focused on higher volume to take advantage of our time in Florida.  Each day is filled with training and usually finished off with an optional group dinner.

These camps will get you a head start on your 2023 season.  Great for anyone looking to race an early season 70.3 or Ironman - or just something to provide motivation during the winter training months.  Every camp is catered to ability and speed levels attending, keep reading below sections for more info on that.

WHERE: Swim in area 25 yard and 50 meter outdoor pools, area Lakes.  Ride the best roads and paved trails in Florida with plenty of climbing  These include Sugar Loaf Mountain, Buckhill road, and paved trail system around Clermont.  Run at the best local on and off road trails, including the 10 mile Clay Trail loop with rolling hills through the orange groves.

WHEN: A 7 day options from February 27th through March 5th AND a 4 day option(March 2nd through March 5th).  All workouts and routes are planned and fully supported with vehicle SAG and nutrition. This camp is great for anyone looking to race an early season 70.3 or Ironman - or just something to provide motivation during the winter..

First workouts of the different camps options will start at 7-8am, the final workout of camp finishes by 1pm on Sunday March 5th.  The final workout will finish at the NTC and showers are available for those catching flights soon after as well as bike and bag dropoff on site for those using that service.

HOW FAR AND FAST: The camp consists of higher volume training - expect to ride 250-350 miles, run 25-40 miles, and swim 10,000-15,000 meters during the 7 days.   I do offer shorter options/shortcuts to keep the group together on most workouts and accommodate different situations. Everyone attending the camps should have 70.3 and Ironman experience with a recent sub 7.5 hour 70.3 or showing similar ability in workouts.  You can always contact me at [email protected] or through the contact form on this website if unsure.

WHO: All camps are led by Ruble Triathlon Coaching (Zach Ruble and additional SAG support who have worked this camp many years now), and will have a mix of the above mentioned ability triathletes.  The past 8 years camps have been hard work but with plenty of R and R in evenings.

I will have hired extra SAG and mechanical support to handle total camp numbers. With the drafting on the bike workouts and shorter workout options available we can accommodate a fairly wide range of ability within each camp.  Each camp is limited to 20 people

WHAT YOU GET: Pool access, all workout nutrition from First Endurance and other sources, workout planning and routing, mechanic service and multiple vehicle SAG support on all rides and runs, 1 Free Dinner, 1-2 post swim Panera coffee/bagels, camp t-shirt, camp cycling socks, camp cycling jersey, coaching instruction with full access to coaches(Zach Ruble/Ruble Triathlon and assistant coaches) for questions, swim video to be critiqued and emailed after camp, and TBD extra's.

WHAT TO BRING: USAT license, bike(tri bike, road bike, or both) and all bike training gear(we have a mechanic with pump, tools, etc. but do pack your saddle bag w flat gear), all swimming gear (including pullbuoy, paddles, optional wetsuit shorts, and a standard wetsuit), all triathlon training clothing to be ready for weather forecast, special nutrition items you need(we provide most workout nutrition you'd need including First Endurance EFS Standard, FE Liquid shots or assorted gels, assorted other drink mixes, Coke, assorted salt tablets or flasks, and water),  running shoes, backback to go from workout location to workout location without getting back to your house/hotel, 3 water bottles(we stop enough on rides you can get from point to point with 2 bottles), soap/towels/personal items for rental houses, ask Zach at [email protected] with questions.

TRANSPORTATION: Please provide your own transportation from/to the airport to your hotel or rental house.  Also be prepared to provide your own transportation to workouts. In many cases the group can work together to do carpooling for participants and for bikes to offsite training locations.  Please email Zach at [email protected] for more questions on this.  I'm able to haul several bikes around during the week, but won't be able to accomodate all - first come first serve here.

WEATHER: Expect workout temps between 60-85 fahrenheit this time of year.   We've never had a rainy workout in 8 years of doing this camp, it's a relatively dry time of year in Clermont.

7 day camp - $700 currently coached triathletes; $850 non coached

HOTEL ROOMS: Rooms at the Fairfield Inn or Hampton Inn are within walking distance of the National Training Center (the start for many of our workouts, or travel to workout sites).  Nightly hotel costs this time of year are over $250/night
