_ The 2023 Xterra Lory Triathlon:
XTERRA Lory Triathlon on June 17th is the perfect kick-off to the year for the seasoned off-road triathlete, or a great opportunity for the road triathlete wanting to try out a mountain bike triathlon for the first time.
The XTERRA Lory Triathlon features a 1/2 mile swim in the clear waters of Horsetooth Reservoir (Eltuk Bay), it's one of the most scenic swims in the state with canyon walls on both sides. Then it's on to a 2-Lap (beginner friendly) 12.2 mile single-track bike over rolling terrain, and across valley bridges at Lory State Park. Then you'll get to finish things off with a fun and challenging 4.8 mile (8k) run through the clouds on single-track trails! This is the perfect off-road triathlon for beginners to experts. The course is designed so that anyone can have fun and everyone will be challenged! Entries will be limited to 350 participants, and we sold out 2011-2022 in early April!
BACK FOR 2023: Stand Up Paddleboard Option instead of the 1/2 mile swim (you must bring your own SUP)!

Course Information:
The XTERRA Lory Triathlon features a 1/2 mile swim (or stand-up paddle-board option) in the cool waters of Horsetooth Reservoir, a two-lap single track course on the beginner friendly mountain bike trails inside Lory State Park, and finishes with a 5 mile run that can be described as challenging but extremely rewarding! Oh and did we mention the 25ft long Slip n' Slide waiting to cool you off at the finish line?!?!

DIRECTIONS TO LORY STATE PARK - XTERRA LORY
BOULDER, DENVER, & COLORADO SPRINGS
Take CO-119 N/Diagonal Hwy, continue to follow CO-119 N (Boulder Only)
Merge onto I-25 N/US-87 N via the ramp on the left
Merge onto CO-14 W/E Mulberry st via exit 269B toward Ft. Collins. 3.5 mi
Turn slight right onto Riverside Ave. 0.6 mi
Riverside Ave becomes Jefferson St. 0.4 mi
Turn right onto N College Ave/US-287 N/CO-14 W. Continue to follow US-287 N/CO-14 W. 3.6 mi
Stay straight to go onto CR-54G/OLD US-287. Continue to follow CR-54G. 2.7 mi
Turn left onto CR-52E/Rist Canyon rd. .9mi
(You'll see a country store named "VERYN'S" which is dark red)
Turn left onto N County rd 23. 1.4 mi (You'll see a small yellow house at the turn that says "BELLVUE")
Turn right onto CR-25G. 1.6 mi
End at Lory State Park, Follow Signs to Parking and please follow parking attendants
