Aukeman 2023 will be on August 6, 2023.
We will be hosting both an Olympic distance event and a Sprint triathlon on the same day.
Course Information:
Sprint: 750M swim, 19K bike, 5K run
Olympic: 1.5KM swim, 40k bike, 10k run
The Aukeman triathlon starts in the waters of Auke Lake, an incredibly scenic spot in Juneau, Alaska surrounded by mountains. The swim course will be a one-way swim from the UAS dock to the boat ramp, and you will be started by your age group. Participants emerge from the lake, run up to transition at the University of Alaska Southeast campus and then are off on the bike course. The Sprint course goes out to the Mendenhall Glacier Visitors Center; the Olympic course will be out and back on Glacier Highway. The bike course is moderately flat and out-and-back. Transition 2 is in the same location and then participants will head out on the run course. The Sprint course uses the Auke Lake trail for a nice out and back on a mix of dirt and pavement; the Olympic course will go out the paved path, then connecting with the Brotherhood Bridge Trail for an out and back course.
