Triathlon : Swim 500 yards, Bike 12.5 Miles, Run 3.3 Miles |
After being diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes a year before graduating Gustavus Adolphus College, our own Epsilon Pi Alpha alumni, Peter Nerothin, would go on to found an internationally recognized non-profit, Insulindependence. As a diabetic, ultra-endurance runner and triathlete, Nerothin has supported diabetics worldwide by breaking the stereotype that diabetics cannot lead active and healthy lifestyles. All proceeds from this event go directly to Insulindependence.org and its affiliate partner, Triabetes.
Our pride in this event is strong, as multiple members of the Epsilon Pi Alpha Fraternity have had, or been diagnosed, with diabetes over the last decade.
