_ The 2022 Death by Duathlon 12 Hour Challenge

This challenge requires participants to run a 5k followed by a 9 mile bike ride, repeating as many times as possible within the 12 hour time frame. For 2022, we will be allowing ten 2-person teams, so you don't have to go it alone. The event will take place at the RunStrong Training Center where both the run and rides will start and finish. Both the run and bike courses will be an out and back. The course will consist of either asphalt multi-use trail or a lightly trafficked road that doubles as a bike route. Participants will be required to safely cross intersections without course support, but traffic is generally light and not a problem as both courses are used regularly by runners and cyclists.  There will be no on-course aid stations or traffic control. Participants will need to be self supported while out on the course, but will be fully provided for at the start/finish. Plenty of food and drinks will be available throughout the day, including hot food. You will not go hungry at a RunStrong event. Participants can use any kind of bike they choose. The courses are both moderately hilly. Cyclists will be required to wear a helmet at all times while riding.  Cyclists and runners will both be on the run portion of the course simultaneously, so it will be important to stay on the correct side of the trail/road. This will be addressed in the pre-event briefing.  Each participant will receive an event shirt and some other great swag. Registrations will be limited to 49 participants in order to be as safe as possible and also to provide enough area in the parking lot for participants to set up bikes and transition stations. After 49 registrations, we will open a waitlist but it is not likely that we will open any additional spots, so get signed up early. This event will fill up fast so get signed up today!
