_ The 2022 Mudwater Triathlon, Duathlon & Aquabike:
Don’t let the name fool you. The water is really not that bad. Lake Afton Park is located approximately 20 minutes southwest of Wichita. From Wichita, take US Highway 54/400 west to 215th Street West (west edge of Goddard). Go south on 215th Street for three miles to MacArthur Road. Go west on MacArthur for two and a half miles to the west entrance of the park.
The 16th Annual 2022 Mudwater Triathlon & Duathlon will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2022.
THE RACES AT MUDWATER (USAT Sanction pending)
DUATHLON: 5K run, 25K bike, 5K run
TRIATHLON: “Sprint” Distance – 750m swim, 25K bike, 5K run / “Olympic” Distance – 1500 m swim, 24 mile (39K) bike, 10K run
Races will start at 7:00 am
Course Information:
Swim:
• Sprint is 1 loop.
• Olympic is 2 loops
• An out and back pattern parallel to the shore along the swim area on west side of lake.
• Wave starts.
Sprint Bike:
• Out (west) and back on MacArthur Road.
• Moderately rolling hills.
Olympic Bike:
• Loop Course with moderately rolling hills and a long climb.
Run:
• Flat, fast paved park road.
• Water stations at three points on the run.
• Sprint is 1 loop.
• Olympic is 2 loops
