_ The 2022 North Jersey Pride Run:

The North Jersey Pride Run is a 5K and Kids Race in South Orange, NJ that brings our community together and raises funds for North Jersey Pride, Inc.

North Jersey Pride, Inc. is a  501(c)3 dedicated to supporting LGBTQ youth and families through programming and events in the Garden State. We aim to inspire our larger ally community to get involved in the struggle for full equality and to join us in building a world where all young people feel safe, loved and accepted for who they are.  

Sponsored by Pet Wants SOMA (providing water on the course for all creatures) and Triumph Coaching, LLC (providing coaching and group training)

North Jersey Pride Run Details:

5K for participants 18 and older: $25

5K for participants under 18 years: $15

5K plus Coaching and Training Plan: $100 (read details below)

Kids' Race (3-9 years old): $5

This USATF-certified 5K course begins and ends in Grove Park, South Orange, NJ. Runners and walkers of all ages, speeds, and styles are welcome to participate in the 5K.  Come with your kids, your strollers, and your (5K capable) pets for a good time in the back of the pack.  Looking for a PR on this flat, fast certified 5K course?  Then step up to the front and lead the way!

Grove Park is in walking distance to the NJ Transit South Orange Train Station.

Race Start Time:  9:00am

Kids Race Start Time:  10:00am in Grove Park

All children ages 3-9 years old are eligible for the Kids' Race.  Depending on the number of participants, the Kids' Race may be divided into heats based on age (distance may be adjusted based on age group as well).  

Only 5K participants who register online by Sunday, May 17th are guaranteed a t-shirt.

In the past many young children run the both the 5K and the Kids Race.  It was wonderful to see so many young people out on the 5K course together. Please contact us if you have any questions about your young child participating in the 5K distance.

North Jersey Pride Run + Coaching and Training Plan:

This is an amazing value offered by our North Jersey Pride Run sponsor, Triumph Coaching, LLC.

Available to participants 18 years and older.

Join Coach Katy of Triumph Coaching for Group Training, Coaching, and a 10-week training plan, beginning 3/27/22. This training group is recommended for beginners or runners who are just getting back into it.  

Included in this option is registration to the North Jersey Pride Run, a 10-week training plan, a private facebook group for this training group, weekly coached group training sessions on Sundays (time TBD), and the regular communication and expertise of Coach Katy.  

Katy is a USA Triathlon Certified Coach and has been coaching various sports including soccer, swimming and running since she was a teenager. She is also a lifelong and decorated athlete - she played Division 1 Soccer for Lehigh and has qualified for the Boston Marathon, the NYC Marathon, and most recently the Ironman World Championships at Kona after her recent age group win at Ironman Florida. She enjoys bringing her commitment to sport to athletes of all backgrounds and levels.  

She understands life is busy and wants to help clients find the balance between life and running. By learning to love the journey as much as race day itself, training becomes something to look forward to, rather than a chore. 

Katy is thrilled to be working with the North Jersey Pride Run to help increase diversity and inclusion of all people in the running community.  

Awards

Age groups: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-18, 18-22, 23-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+

Within each age group the runners with the top three times in each of the three gender categories (female, male, and nonbinary) will be awarded a medal.
