The 2022 Sandman Triathlon & Duathlon:
The Sandman Triathlon is one of Santa Cruz County’s oldest triathlons, having its inaugural race way back in 1985 in the infancy days of the sport. The Sandman Triathlon and Duathlon is a local fundraiser for the Santa Cruz State Lifeguards Juniors, Lifeguards and State Parks operations. It is a grass roots, fun and quirky race! Fun for all all types of racers. Those just starting out or those willing to test out their skills! This race offers a brisk ocean swim around the historic S.S. Palo Alto Ship, followed by a rolling bike course through the Aptos neighborhoods finishing with a 4 mile beach run! Come out and see if you can win one of the coveted hand made sand trophies! Race spaces are limited due to space restrictions! Sign up while you can!
