Triathlon : Swim 15 Minutes, Bike 15 Minutes, Run 15 Minutes |
_The 2022 ROC Indoor Triathlon:
Swim 15mins + Bike 15mins + Run 15mins = Total Race 45mins
In wave starts, athletes will Swim, Bike, and Run in order as far as they can within the 15-min time allotment per discipline with 5-min transitions in between each. Transition times will be discounted from the total time, however the next discipline will begin exactly 5-mins after the previous. Volunteers will be on-hand to observe and record the athletes distances in each discipline then report the distances to the race officials.
Lap Swim, Spin Bike, & Treadmill Run
Swim: A 5-lane lap pool where 2 athletes will split one lane and swim as many laps as possible. To keep it simple, only completed laps will be counted into the athletes swim distance. (15mins)
Bike: Using a stationary bike, athletes will spin as hard as they can to rack up distance. Athletes can adjust the knobs to increase the amount of wattage to impact distance. Bikes will be calibrated as best as possible for a fair competition. (15mins)
Run: Using a treadmill, athletes will run as fas as they safely can. Treadmills will be calibrated as best as possible for a fair competition. (15mins)
Competitive Understanding: We will do our absolute best to calculate the distances based upon the information recorded and submitted by volunteers, which might differ from the athletes watch.
Tie-Breaker: In the unlikely event of a tie in total distance, total KW will be used as the tie-breaker.
