"We have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2022 Desert Triathlon. We were really hoping to bring back the race, but several factors, including rising costs, a date change to earlier in the year that we were required to make, the ongoing pandemic, and lower registration numbers lead us to this difficult decision. We appreciate your interest in Desert Triathlon, and hope the race will return in 2023."
Course Information:
The calm lake swim takes place in Lake Cahuilla on separate courses for each distance. The flat, fast bike loop course takes place on closed streets in La Quinta and Riverside county. Sprint participants will complete one loop, and Olympic distance participants will complete two loops. The run takes place on roads and packed dirt around Lake Cahuilla, with sprint participants completing one loop and Olympic distance participants completing two loops.
