_The 2021 9/11 20th Anniversary Ruck March:
•Who: Event coordinated by AFSA “Raptor” Chapter 358
•When: Friday September 10th @0800 (0745 in-place for safety briefing)
•Where: 3 mile course along the west end of the flight line starting and ending at the F-15 static display.
•Why: To honor those who perished as a result of the 9/11 attacks and to remember the impact the attacks had on the Air Force and DoD as a whole.
•How: Participants will be asked to carry stamina appropriately weighted backpacks/rucks (if physically/medically able) to commemorate the historic and tragic event. Squadrons are encouraged to carry/display their guidon.
Attire: Appropriate athletic gear (e.g. PT Gear, Squadron Shirts w/ PT Gear) or UOD (OCPs). Blousing of OCP pants is not required during event.
Please ensure that you bring and wear your mask (COVID-protocol) while at the Start/Finish area. Participants may be in close proximity while awaiting the safety briefing as attending the opening remarks. Once the remarks are done and the ruck begins you may un mask and use proper distancing during the march to minimize health risks.
Commemorative patches for the event will be sold at the event for $10. Pre-sales using the AFSA Cash App account can be coordinated with race POC MSgt Alicea (Names and inform of individuals ordering will be needed prior to accepting any cash app deposits). FSS will also be providing 9/11 remembrance shirts on a first come first serve basis while supplies last (approx. 60-70).
