Want a mid-season Sprint distance triathlon to keep yourself race-ready through the summer?
Or are you a beginner triathlete looking for a great, convenient venue to accomplish that goal of completing your first tri? Then join us for the Fairland Sprint at the Fairland Sports and Aquatics Complex on the grounds of Fairland Regional Park. Located in Prince George's County, the Capital Beltway provides easy access to the race site from Baltimore, Washington, D.C. or Virginia.
After a 400 meter snake swim in the indoor pool, athletes will exit the pool to the Transition Area.
A flat bike course awaits, with a left turn out of the complex to start the 12 mile ride. Well paved roads, most with ample shoulders, will bring athletes on a clockwise course back to the Complex and into T2. Athletes will then run a flat and fast 5K on part of the Regional Park's trail system of well-groomed nature trails and asphalt paths, with many portions shaded from the July sun...what could be better? Let the crowd and the music beckon you back to the finish area of this very beginner-friendly and spectator-friendly event.
