_ The 2021 Sandman Triathlon and Duathlon:
This long standing race began in 1985 and is a benefit to the local Lifeguard Association. Now in it's 35th year you will become a Sandman by swimming around the infamous Cement Ship, riding through the Aptos, Rio Del Mar and Seacliff hills, and completing a 4 mile beach run!
Course Information:
Start with an ocean swim .75 miles around the historic S.S. Palo Alto Cement Ship. then roll through the Aptos, Rio Del Mar, and Seacliff neighborhoods for a 13 mile bike ride, then finish strong with a sandy 4 mile out and back beach run! This is a down to earth, quirky event that is low key and gets right to the triathlon point!
