The TRI for KIDS Triathlon offers a 50 meter or 150 meter swim, a four mile bike, and a one mile run course at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, CA for boys and girls 5 to 14 years of age.

TRI for KIDS Triathlon #2

Rancho Seco Park, Herald 

The TRI for KIDS Triathlon will be held at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, California. The course will have a 50 meter or 150 meter swim, a four mile bike, and a one mile run. Boys and girls aged 11 and over will swim the longer distance, with kids aged 10 and under doing the shorter distance.

Included with the June TRI for Kids entry is a TRI for KIDS Shoulder Bag.

TRI for Kids Triathlon Distance: 5 to 10 yrs old:  Swim 50 meters Bike 4 miles Run 1 mile

TRI for KIDS Triathlon Distance 11 to 14 yrs old: Swim 150 meters Bike 4 miles Run 1 mile

The swim course will be a 50 meter swim or 150 meter swim along the shoreline, completely monitored by safety kayakers and lifeguards.

The bike course will be a four-mile course on the roads inside the park at Rancho Seco. The course will be closed to traffic and monitored for safety. The Bike course will Not have an aid station. Water and electrolyte beverage, along with energy gels will be available in the transition area.

The run course will be a one-mile course around sections of the lake on grass and trails. There will be an aid station at the start and half way on the run course. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line.

The Transition area for the TRI for KIDS Triathlon will be contained within the Transition area for the TRI for Real Triathlon with athletes from both races sharing portions of the Transition area. We ask parents after helping their kids set-up transition to please exit the Transition area. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times during the race. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.

For the TRI for KIDS Triathlon there will be age group awards five-deep for each one-year age group. Every finisher will receive a race finisher ribbon.

6:30 am Registration and Packet pick up open

6:30 am Transition area open

7:00 am Race announcements begin

7:30 am Start of TRI for KIDS Triathlon

7:30 am Entry into Rancho Seco Park closed from 7:30 am to 8 am due to TRI for KIDS Triathlon bike course closure. Vehicles can park and walk in approximately one mile or wait until the road opens at 8 am.

Refund and Transfer Information

TBF Racing has a No Refund policy on all of our events. A Refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Race transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Participant transfers are allowed for this event, with a $15 fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held Rain or Shine.

Race fees increase on race day. There is a $12 park entrance fee per vehicle.
