Everyone loves a standing ovation... Well, how about a moving one?!

Join us as we celebrate the true Superheroes of the COVID-19 pandemic... our essential workers.

CAPE's Marathon Project will host its 2nd Annual Hybrid 5K race! This year we are offering limited spots for in-person and unlimited virtual participants. We are hosting this event in honor of our brave essential workers and continuing the celebration of those who have served our country.

The safety of our participants, volunteers, and staff is of the utmost importance to The Marathon Project. We are 100% committed to following the CDC and Dutchess County Department of Community and Behavioral Health guidelines. The following race procedures and COVID-19 protocols were developed to help ensure the health and safety of all involved. We understand guidelines and health metrics continue to evolve daily and we at The Marathon Project will continue to update our participants should any changes to the following occur.

Racing in-person?

In order to adhere to the CDC and Dutchess County Department of Community and Behavioral Health COVID-19 safety guidelines, we are will require each person that will be attending the event in-person to adhere to the following protocols.

  • Volunteers and Race officials are required to wear masks/face coverings for the duration of the event.
  • Participants are required to wear masks/face coverings at the start/finish line area as well as when 6 ft of social distancing cannot be maintained.
  • Masks will not be required while running, however, we ask that all participants carry with them a mask/face covering should they be unable to maintain 6 ft from other runners on the course.
  • No Spectators will be allowed. Only persons with online registration are permitted.
  • A limited supply of water will be provided at the start/finish line. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water to help reduce contact.
  • Post-race swag, food & beverages will be packaged in “to-go” bags to ensure the race finish area is cleared promptly.
  • Maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from other people that are not in my household.
  • Always wear a mask or appropriate face coverings OTHER THAN while actively participating in the event, including at the start line and immediately after completing the event.
  • Bring my own aid, including but not limited to, water, food, masks/face coverings, hand sanitizer, and other medically necessary supplies I may need.
  • Will clear the finish line area within 15 minutes of completing the 5k.
  • Follow all directions set forth by volunteers, staff, and on-site signage without question.
  • Will ONLY start the race with members of my immediate household.
