2021 Hy Noon Kiwanis Storm the Lake Triathlon & Duathlon:
The 9th annual Hy Noon Kiwanis Storm the Lake triathlon/duathlon is a charity event for Storm Lake Hy Noon Kiwanis in building a city park. Join other athletes at beautiful Storm Lake, IA King’s Pointe Waterpark and Resort. Swim in the protected bay, bike around the lake and run along the lake finishing at the flower lined path. All transition areas are at the waterpark. Storm Lake is considered one of the most beautiful venues for a triathlon. The entire route is well marked with yellow vested Kiwanis volunteers cheering the athletes and providing assistance all along the way. This is a USAT sanctioned event and participants are required to purchase a one day or annual membership to USAT.
Course Information:
Swim ¼ mile out from the beach in the bay, turn at the buoy and return to the beach at King’s Pointe, run along the carpet on the sand to the transition area, bike 12 miles around the lake on pavement returning to transition area at King’s Point, run out of the transition area running 2.5K towards the dam at Lakeside, turn and return 2.5K along the lake and back to King’s Pointe to the finish line. The duathlon is a 1 mile run along the lake to the transition area, bike 12 miles around the lake on pavement returning to transition area at King’s Point, run out of the transition area running 2.5K towards the dam at Lakeside, turn and return 2.5K along the lake and back to King’s Pointe to the finish line.
